Ingredients

2 c. Flour
1 pkg. Yeast
1 1/2 c. Tepid Water

Preparation Instructions

In large jar, sprinkle yeast over water. Let stand 10 minutes. Sprinkle flour onto yeast and whisk to form thick batter. Doesn't have to be smooth. Cover and let stand at room temperature 24 hours to 3 days. Then refrigerate (up to 2 weeks without being used). Before using, leave at room temperature until it bubbles up (4 to 6 hours). Then stir before using. After each use, replace amount used with equal amounts of flour and tepid water. Beat into starter with wooden spoon, cover and let set at room temperature until it bubbles (6 to 24 hours). Stir and refrigerate. If not used within 2 weeks, pour off half and replenish.
